Yes Weigh.

I sucked it up and went to WW this morning for my weigh in. -1.8 down!

If I can get out of the 150's, it will be a freaking miracle. I was kinda bummed that it wasn't at least .02 more so I could say I'm officially out of the 150's. But it will happen soon enough! And I'm glad to have the weigh in done and over with. :)

Today at my meeting, I got a yellow sticker and a bookmark, coupled with a nice round of applause from the group (I'm down 5.4 pounds since I started there). Even though it's not my normal meeting, I really enjoyed and appreciated the recognition. 5 pounds is a small feat compared to some, but for me- who only has about 20 pounds (or less) left to lose, 5 pounds was big! Another 5 pounds will be huge! The leader asked me what my "secret" was- and even though I don't feel like I have any secret, I can say (and did say) that I attribute this weight loss mostly to working out. She asked me- "you don't feel like any of this came from eating better?" and of course I do believe that, but I'm at a point where if I don't work out, I don't lose. So realizing that and accepting that has been a big part of my success.

I am excited to lose the next 10 pounds. Even though it seems like an uphill battle sometimes, I think back to 10 pounds ago when I was first beginning, and how monumental the whole thing looked. I wasn't sure if I could do it- I still wonder some days if I can finish what I started. It's taken me almost 6 months to lose these 10 pounds! I know for some people, 10 pounds can be lost in a month. And that's great and I'm a little jealous, because I wish I could do it like that. I've done it like that before, but I had to take drastic measures to get it done. I had to change my lifestyle pretty drastically, and this time around I just didn't want to do that. I am getting better at watching what I eat and working out more, but I seriously wanted this time around to do something that works for me long term- not another quick fix that as soon as I walked away from it- I was gaining the weight back. So it's been a slow process. I'm still happy that it's happening. :) I don't care how long it takes as long as it's gone.

Good luck on your journey guys! I have to get some work done. Thank you for reading.

  1. I applaud you looking at this as a long-term situation and not a quick fix. Otherwise, you'll be right back where you started in no time...

  2. Woo Hoo, Diz! Almost TWO pounds down. And, congrats on sucking it up and going to the weigh-in to begin with!

An even 150 pounds! How cruel is that?! hahaha. Next week, girlfriend, next week we'll be doing the "I'm out of the 150s" happy dance!
